Information for Patients
We are aware of the difficulty in getting through to our practices. Under the current climate, we too are dealing with staff shortages due to sickness.
However we are working hard to answer as many telephone calls as possible in a timely manner.
We have started regular Covid vaccination clinics again within Swanscombe Health Centre to help deliver booster vaccinations to as many people as possible, following the Prime Minister’s announcement on Sunday 12th December 2021.
We would like to reassure patients that this has not impacted on the clinical time offered in the practice, and that doctors and vaccinators are doing these exclusively within their own time. However, to maintain these, we do need the support of extra administration staff. Staff have to be reallocated and many have given up their own time to help deliver this service.
We understand the frustration of patients who have been unable to use the eConsult service.
We paused this to review it, due to our concerns around patient safety. Following this review, it will be relaunched on January 4th in a modified way. You will be able to use this service for non-emergency requests between 8am – 11am.
If you need an appointment at the practice, please remember you can call any of our branches, not just the site you would usually visit. You can also use the Patient Access app or the NHS app. You are able to request repeat medications through these apps or through our website. If you need to request a MED3 (sick certificate), this can be done through our website too. There also many self-help guides available. The local pharmacies can help with minor ailments and advice, while 111 and the Gravesend Urgent Treatment Centre are available to offer you emergency clinical help when we are at capacity.
Since the 1st December, we have offered patients 3443 appointments. Of these, on average 150 patients failed to attend or cancel their appointments per week (9%). If you book an appointment and are unable to attend, please cancel it. If you are unable to get through to one of our branches, you can contact us through our website.
